Hello!
And welcome to the premier website for all things Mika Little!
A little background for starters:
I am a graduate of Case Western Reserve University (in Cleveland), with a major in Computer Science and minors in studio art and English. However, despite my choice in major, my true passions lie in art, design, and music.
That's why instead of finding links to github or code repositories, this site is for showing off some of my digital art scratchings and a few recordings of me banging on the ivories.
At the moment, I'm searching for a position in video games, movies, or any other form of creative media. I have worked as both a programmer (LACHINA inc.) and an artist (Gas Powered Games) and moving forward, I am specifically interested in production and design opportunities.
At LACHINA, a publishing company located in Cleveland, OH, I was a programmer and designer for a virtual learning platform for iOS and Android systems. Specifically, I worked in Unity and Maya to create interactive models, diagrams, and miniature games to supplement the textual aspect of the platform. Unfortunately my work has yet to be disclosed by LACHINA, but you can visit the LACHINA website to get some examples of the kind of stuff they do.
At Gas Powered Games, I worked as an artist and animator on an unannounced, 2D game. I was responsible for concepting characters in Photoshop, as well as creating the animations for each character that made it through the chopping block. All animations were done in Toon Boom Animate Pro 2 and Flash and exported as sprite sheets to be handed off to the programming team.
I also was one of three developers (designer/programmer) of Project October, a news aggregation site that utilizes a recommender that learns based on your reading habits! Go check it out, although keep in mind that work is now being done on the backend, so articles cannot currently be submitted.
As for current projects, I'm working on a game as the sole developer - writing the code, making the art, and composing/designing the music and sound. I'll be posting developments on this website, so check back often!
This site was designed and coded by that guy over there on the right.
The music you see here is divvied up into two groups. The first is my random, 'for fun' compositions. The second is the score I wrote and recorded for a university production of "Eurydice". All songs are 100% Mika Little certified fresh, from the beats and pads, to the strings and brass. These songs were primarily made with ProTools 8, although there are a few that were made with Reason or Logic Pro. If you would like a full list of my music, please visit my Soundcloud.
